Henry Frank Patullo, Sr., age 84, died early Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at home with his family by his side. Known affectionately as "Riggie", he was born on July 6, 1929 to Frank Patullo and Concetta Patullo (Vendetti) and was a lifelong resident of Bound Brook. The quintessential family man, he was a devoted husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He recently celebrated his 61st wedding anniversary with his devoted wife, Gale. Henry could often be seen tending to his prize-winning tomato garden, whistling along to his music, and spending time with his beloved grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing with his many friends and relatives, spending countless hours on his boat. Henry learned the carpentry trade from his father and built a successful local business, Henry F. Patullo and Sons. Henry was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Bound Brook, where he was married and a member of the church choir for more than 60 years. He had the honor of performing for the pope at the Vatican as part of the Diocesan Choir. An avid singer, he was a member of the "Hounds for Harmony" barbershop chorus for over 50 years and the "Ol' Pals" quartet for over 35 years. He was awarded the "Barber Shopper of the Year" in 1990. His love of music extended to his last days, where he conducted classical music, opera, and standards from the American songbook from his favorite chair. He actively contributed to the community as a member of the Mount Carmel Society, the Bound Brook Elks Club, and as a former volunteer with the Ivy Hook and Ladder fire company. He also served in the National Guard.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Carmine and Daniel. He is survived by his loving wife, Gale (neé Porter); four children: Cynthia DeFrank (Stephen) of Oak Hill, VA, Henry (Rick) F. Patullo, Jr. (Lisa) of Neshanic Station, Thomas Patullo (Maria) of Bridgewater, and Concetta Carr (Ernest) of Tampa, FL; nine grandchildren: Cara (Jamie), Cristin, Michael (Kathryn), Kelly, Morgan, Ernie, Taylor, Tyler, and Eric; and two great-grandchildren: Mia and Addison. He is also survived by three brothers: Anthony (Marge), Vincent (Muriel), and Joseph (Gail); and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews."
